Strong, sturdy and massively versatile, it was way ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world is turning, evolution doesn’t favor a standstill and if you want to survive in nature, you need to keep innovating. Leaner and meaner is this new bear, the CargoBear 2.0, when he emerges from his winter den in Berg. Same load bearing strength, same solidity, same rigidity, but greatly reduced fight weight: Your 4x4 has to carry around 30 % less weight on the roof. And on top of it, the new CargoBear comes with a reduced price tag as well. How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in a new construction design. Removing the comparatively heavy longitudinal connecting beams, their structural function has been taken over by newly developed perforated HIGRIP plates between the crossbars and angled end-plates for the sides. The new design achieves (nearly) the same structural strength as its predecessor but reduces the net weight considerably.  The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with evenly distributed load). This can easily be doubled on the road. Theoretically, that is, because it’s important to make two points when it comes to roof racks. One, keep in mind that your vehicle’s centre of gravity can shift upwards considerably when carrying a roof rack with cargo, especially off-road. And two, when loading your roof rack, the limitations will most likely result from your vehicles approved roof load which in most cases will be significantly below the specifications of the rack itself. Some of the CargoBear 2.0’s features stay the same, however, because we found them hard to improve: this includes the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. Furthermore, all accessories, additional components, roof tents etc. are fully compatible with the first generation.  And last but not least, the old heavier CargoBear with longitudinal beams and checker plate will be continued exclusively for classic Defenders who need specific heavy-duty applications.  PLEASE NOTE: In Defender with pop-up roof / lift roof, the original roof is often shortened. If necessary, the roof rack then does not fit. Please measure beforehand or contact us in advance if you have any questions. The AUTOTERM (=Planar) 2D12 is equipped with an altitude kit.This means that the heater automatically reduces the injection quantity according to the ambient air pressure. This reduces or prevents sooting of the combustion chamber when the air oxygen content drops. The maximum heat output decreases proportionally to the amount of oxygen in the air. Roughly speaking, from 2,000 metres the loss of output per 500 m altitude is approx. 5%. Manufacturer tests up to 3,440 m were trouble-free. Up to 4,000 m no difficulties are to be expected. Up to 5,000 m the software calculates itself - but this could not yet be tested at real altitude. Important:Especially when used at high altitude, the free travel of the fan is extremely important!Route the combustion air intake and exhaust extremely short and with low resistance - i.e. no kinks, no blockage or reduction. It should also be noted that operation beyond 3,000 m is still a technical compromise. Again, care should be taken to ensure that the combustion chamber is properly heated on a regular basis. The chamber must be burnt free of soot deposits. Soot deposits can also form on heaters that are permanently operated at the lowest setting. Therefore, the following still applies: No guarantee for sooty combustion chambers!In order to ensure the longevity of the heater, you should also free-burn it occasionally at low levels. The combustion chamber reaches full temperature after running at full load for about half an hour. Normally, no further maintenance is required. In an ideal world, every part on the frame and underbody of a classic Landy would have come galvanized from the start. But of course, that didn’t happen at Land Rover, so corrosion in the substructure is one of the biggest enemies of classic Defenders, Discoveries and Range Rovers. Our hot-dip galvanized cross member is the perfect and durable replacement solution for corroded original parts. In 110 Defenders it sits under the second row of seats and not only secures the floor construction permanently, but also provides mounting points for sidebars, rock sliders, steps and many other attachments.    Suitable for Defender 110 (MY until 2016) Station Wagon and Crew Cab as well as 130 Crew Cab (additional drill holes required). Mounting plate air intake for CB radio antennas, Land Rover Defender, for right-hand drive (RHD) This mounting plate ensures optimum mounting of a CB antenna on the air intake of the Land Rover Defender. For this purpose, the mounting plate is installed on the right-hand (as seen from the driver's seat) ventilation grille / air intake. For left-hand drive vehicles, you can find the mounting plate here in our shop. As the Defender is made of aluminium, unfortunately no magnetic antenna base will hold. We have therefore designed a plate made of sheet steel with a suitable opening for the cable. CargoBear accessory holder for maximum traction Maximum Traction Boards are an extremely lightweight plastic alternative to conventional aluminum sandboards, a must-have for all serious off-roaders and expedition enthusiasts. If you have at least two CargoBear crossbars - or the entire roof rack - on the classic Defender (up to MY2016) or Mercedes G-Class, you can now install a robust and quickly accessible mount for the traction boards with little effort. The mount consists of a bracket set with two of our tried-and-tested CargoBear awning brackets (stainless steel) and special aluminium mounting plates for the traction boards. The awning brackets are simply screwed to the crossbars’ angled sides. All brackets are powder-coated in black. Screws and fastening material (stainless steel) - also for the traction board - are included.

Self-adhesive anti-slip pads Perforated metal sheets, as used on our CargoBear roof racks, on ladders, steps and other climbing aids on vehicles, are much safer than regular metal surfaces. Additional anti-slip pads, however, offer an unbeatable safety advantage, especially in wet or dirty conditions. The anti-slip pads are designed to perfectly match the hole patterns and due to its black color, they also compliment the overall look of our products. The material for the pads originates in the sports sector and has been widely used on skateboards, for example. For the CargoBear, we offer ready-cut, self-adhesive anti-slip pads measuring 16 x 24 cm individually or in sets of 3, 6 or 12. Please note: the multi-packs provide increasing savings regarding the price per item. Since the pads are manufactured with in-house laser cutting technology, we can supply custom formats on request.

Nakatanenga Ventilation Panels Sliding Window Boot- Land Rover Defender until MY2016 It’s probably fair to say that the sliding rear windows on the Defender are more of a charming anachronism than a fully usable window. Due to their size and the horizontal sliding direction, it makes little sense to have them open while driving – especially in rainy weather or dusty conditions. And while parked, they are an open invitation for burglars and thieves.That’s why we have expanded our range of ventilation plates and are now offering them for both sides of the rear sliding windows in the old Landy (up to MY 2016). The plates have a folding mechanism in the middle that allows for vertical positioning in the open window. By pushing the windowpane forward and locking it, the ventilation plate sits firmly in position – allowing for perfect ventilation without compromising comfort or security while driving or parking.A standard feature of our ventilation plates is the insect mesh inside the horizontal ventilation slits. Peace of mind is guaranteed, whether it’s two or six-legged pests. Water run-off or spray is also kept out of the inside of your Defender. And with their black powder coating, the aluminum plates perfectly match the rugged look of any Landy.  The ventilation plates are available individually, optionally for the left or right window. Solar panel for bonnet Next generation solar cells are increasingly integrated into structural components. Instead of separate, awkwardly mounted modules on the roof of a house, for example, the roof tiles themselves function as solar panels. Our PV modules for the hoods of 4x4s and vans follow this principle. While they do not yet replace the hood, they are so thin (only 3 mm) and so flexible that they precisely fit the shape of the hood – making them hard to recognize as an extra add-on. In addition, they are also extremely aerodynamic and robust enough to even step on them if needed. The hood modules for Defenders Td5 and Td4, New Defender, Jimny 2, Mercedes G-Class and Sprinter have an output of between 75 and 90 W at 12 V, depending on the model. Your only requirement is sufficient sunlight to generate enough power for the primary and secondary batteries in the car during the day. This in turn enables you to reliably operate all the devices needed in a camper or expedition vehicle: navigation and communication devices, laptop, cooking equipment, refrigerator and much more. Your equipment always remains fully functional and a sufficient charge of the starter battery is also guaranteed. Mounting the PV module and wiring it up to the batteries in the vehicle are equally easy DIY jobs. The included adhesive tape is all you need to attach the panel to the hood while the intelligent charge controller and the adapter allow for plug & play electric installation. Note: as the connection is individual, the power cables may have to be extended.

The Stainless Steel Bolt corresponds to the Land Rover part number ALR5549. With the Stainless Steel Bolts you can mount the NAS Roll Cage to the Defender. Please mind that you need at least approx. 70 Bolts for one Roll Cage. Galvanised doors for Land Rover Defender from model year 1983-2016 in Land Rover Series Style Everything was better in the past? Not necessarily, but these Defender conversion kits for Series 2/3 style doors are not only for retro fans but definitely add a lot of quality and functionality that has become lost along the way in the standard Defender doors from model year 1983 onwards. So, what are the advantages that these Series-style two-part doors have over the Defender originals? Apart from the fact that they come considerably cheaper, most of the pros lie in the design and the construction of the two-piece doors. For a start, the lift-up handle is recessed and doesn’t protrude as with the plastic push-button handle on the standard doors. This improves safety because they won’t catch on obstacles while off-roading or navigating narrow passages. The lift-up handles also grant better theft prevention as they come with a stronger locking mechanism. Furthermore, the door’s design also creates more space inside the cab, a fact that tall drivers will appreciate immensely. Soft top models, especially, will profit from the completely removable door tops. The slide windows themselves offer quality glazing and one thing you never need to worry about again is the winding mechanism underneath the door trim. In terms of quality and assembly these conversion kits leave nothing to be desired. The frames of door tops and the bottoms are hot-dip galvanized and the aluminum skins adhere to original factory specs. The split retro doors will fit all Defender Models from 90s to 130s and model years from 1983 to 2016. They come with all the required fastenings, handles, locks, strikers and seals. Standard functions of the original doors like car alarm contacts and automatic interior light switch are accommodated for. The only modification required is the drilling of two new holes each for the strikers, because they are differently positioned due to the different locking mechanism. However, we will include a drilling template. The conversion kits are available in pairs for front and/or back seats.

The original spray flap brackets are made of painted steel. Anyone who has been driving a Defender for a long time knows that every few years the brackets rust through, as the paintwork flakes off over time and dirt, oily deposits and constant moisture provide the perfect conditions for corrosion. Our own custom-fit splash guard brackets are not only made of stainless steel, but are also powder-coated black. This makes them extremely robust, corrosion-resistant and durable. Double DIN panel for Land Rover Defender Instead of installing many individual devices in the vehicle's cockpit, it often makes sense to install a single, central device - this saves space, labour, wiring and reduces the risk of theft. Modern multimedia devices now combine a variety of functions such as navigation, hands-free system, rear view camera and vehicle diagnostics and can also play a variety of media - in addition to the classic analogue AM/FM radio reception, digital radio DAB is becoming more and more widespread, DVDs can be played in addition to CDs, MP3 files from USB sticks or hard drives can be played and iPhones or iPods can be controlled. WLan access points and the integration of Internet services such as Facebook can also be realised. In the Defender TD4 (from 2007), there is no space for this ex works. The double DIN installation kit offered here creates this space by relocating the switches to the sloping area between the centre console and the steering wheel, facing the driver. Furthermore, it provides space for the installation of any 52mm round instrument - e.g. an exhaust gas temperature or outside temperature display. This installation space can also be closed off by means of a dummy plug supplied. The panel is available in matt or glossy finish. We will be happy to advise you on the installation of your desired unit. We recommend multimedia devices from brand manufacturers such as Kenwood, Alpine or Pioneer. You can also have the double DIN panel installed in our workshop, including the switch and the multimedia device you brought with you (installation only possible up to 7" display).

Window grille for Defender 90/110 SW for mounting on the inner lining or door frame, suitable for MOLLE system If you plan to extend your off-road, work, expedition or camper vehicle’s storage capacities, you want to maximize on flexibility, economic use of space and safety. Every trip is different: snow on one day, sand or mud on another. Sometimes you’re out for a weekend, other times it’ll be months on and off the road. Always ready to quickly accommodate widely diverse tasks, a MOLLE-compatible storage system has the additional advantage that it’s never in the way, like chests, boxes or drawers so often are.To provide a great solution for your flexible storage needs, we have developed a perfectly fitting system of interior window grills made from powder-coated aluminum for Defenders 90 SW and 110 SW up to MY 2016. Using the included fastening materials, the grills are simply screwed into the interior trim of the cargo area windows and thereby function as an equally lightweight and sturdy MOLLE grid. Off-road vehicles are not designed for aerodynamics and invertebrate air currents, of course. This is seldom noticeable when driving the car, because most of the time you don't even get into the corresponding speed ranges. However, there is one aspect where the rustic boxy shape of the Discovery quickly shows annoying disadvantages and that is the almost rectangular and rather vertically positioned windows. Especially in tough off-road conditions or in cold and wet weather, for example, when the Discovery's ventilation fails again and the windows mist up, you're glad to be able to roll the windows down a bit. But then the effect described at the beginning becomes apparent very quickly. The strong turbulence on the angular windows is not only noisy, but draws even more dust and water into the car. This is annoying even for hardened off-roaders. The bulkhead is pretty much the most complex body part in a Landy – and one of the most vulnerable components, too. For one, it’s sporting many edges, corners, folds, curves and rivet connections and requires a considerable number of screw holes: to the frame, to the connections in the engine bay and to the windshield. Add to that a whole bunch of openings for steering, pedals, air and electrics and you see the problem. All this structural complexity combined with its positioning exposes the bulkhead to water splashing up from below or trickling down from above. Dirt and chemicals collect in the nooks and crannies and trap moisture almost permanently. On the inside of the cabin condensation or leaks can produce the same effect behind the dashboard, panels or floor mats, thereby creating constant moisture exposure from both sides. No wonder, that the bulkhead is one of those components that suffer most from visible or hidden corrosion. Over time, it can even affect the frame. Seat pad Land Rover Defender Many Landy critics bemoan the seat position in the Defender, the missing elbow room and the spartan original Land Rover seats. But that’s doing a disservice to the furniture from Solihull, especially the improved versions that were introduced in 2007. Even taller drivers, with seat rail extensions installed, can do mile after mile without problems for back and behind. So, if you’re restoring an old Defender or you put too much mileage on yours, it’s worth considering to refurbish the old seats instead of putting brand new ones in. As long as the seat covers are fine and only the foam cores have disintegrated, an upgrade with new seat foams can make a huge difference. This is classic DIY and pretty easy to do with our replacement foams for backrests and seat cushions. Simply remove the whole seat, take the backrest and seat cushion out, remove the covers and rip the old foam off the frame. The new foam cores can be fixed to the frame with standard spray adhesives. Then reverse the process and enjoy your firm new seats. The seat fits all Defender standard outer front seats up to 2016, the backrest for 2007 - 2016. Not suitable for special models.

Fender box for Land Rover Defender, selectable right or left Defenders draw their air for the heater on the passenger side and since there is no doubling up for pesky details like right and left hand drive at Land Rover, the fenders are the same for both sides with a plastic dummy vent for the unused intake. But that’s a good thing, because if you are into tinkering, optimizing and upgrading, you will find a neat pre-cut body opening to hold additional waterproof storage or functional space irresistible. Mounting our lockable black fender box is as easy as it gets. It will take you under 5 minutes to unscrew the old cover and replace it with our locker by fastening it to the existing screw holes. If all you need is some exterior space for oily rags or gloves, that’s your job done right there. If you are feeling more ambitious, you might want to install electric sockets, pneumatic connectors or a kill-switch for your winch for instance. In that case, you will appreciate the fact that the floor of the box is loose to make these jobs that much easier. Windscreen Bracket Kit for Land Rover Defender The original windscreen support brackets on the Defender are one of those details on the car that sooner or later cry out for cosmetic surgery. All kinds of corrosion – by exposure, metal contact, environmental or automotive chemicals – affect the parts and simply make them look shabby. The result is rust, peeling paint and streaking on the bodywork. Fortunately, replacing the brackets is one of the easiest jobs on the Landy. Our replacement brackets are available in two versions: black powder-coated or anodized aluminum. Both processes - anodizing and powder coating - ensure extremely resistant and durable sealing of the aluminum parts. During anodizing, electrolysis creates a porous surface structure, which is particularly suitable to absorb color pigments. In a last step, the anodizing is then compacted and thus sealed. However, black anodized aluminum tends to fade, which is why we have opted for powder coating for the deep black option. If you’re aiming for a look other than black or aluminum gray, you can of course paint it yourself or have it painted. You can also achieve your desired custom effect with our range of RAPTOR products.
