Nakatanenga folding console for Land Rover Defender 90/110/130

The vehicle seat in the Land Rover Defender can be easily folded backwards with this folding console, thus providing access to the battery and the electrical components located under the seat. All seats with 405 mm track spacing, e.g. Scheelmann, König, Recaro etc., can be fitted. The original running rails of the Defender are still used and retain their function without restriction. They are attached to the original points on the running rails using the mounting kit supplied. The folding console is also a seat rail extension by approx. 35 mm, a combination with our seat rail extensions is not advisable (although technically feasible). Extends the Defender 90/110/130 Td5 and Tdci seat reals by 50 mm, made of stainless steel and black powder coated, for one seat. Fits all Defenders models from MY 1985 with the exception of military vehicles and those with aftermarked sports seats. The seat rail extensions can be fitted to the original Land Rover seats, the special edition Recaro racing seats, as well es numerous other racing seats. Attached to the original seat mountings in the seat box and respective holes in the seat frames. High-tensile fixings are supplied. The extensions offer more legroom, moving the seats 50 mm backwards and raising them by 30 mm.

The bulkhead is pretty much the most complex body part in a Landy – and one of the most vulnerable components, too. For one, it’s sporting many edges, corners, folds, curves and rivet connections and requires a considerable number of screw holes: to the frame, to the connections in the engine bay and to the windshield. Add to that a whole bunch of openings for steering, pedals, air and electrics and you see the problem.

All this structural complexity combined with its positioning exposes the bulkhead to water splashing up from below or trickling down from above. Dirt and chemicals collect in the nooks and crannies and trap moisture almost permanently. On the inside of the cabin condensation or leaks can produce the same effect behind the dashboard, panels or floor mats, thereby creating constant moisture exposure from both sides. No wonder, that the bulkhead is one of those components that suffer most from visible or hidden corrosion. Over time, it can even affect the frame.
