In the module chain from the winch to the hook, winch windows play an important but often underestimated part. Once you have opted for ultra-light but high-strength synthetic mountain equipment, the rope windows are indispensable for safe and comfortable use. But winch window is not the same as winch window: a quality product improves handling and extends the service life of the ropes even more. That's why we now set up our own Nakatanenga winch window made of hard anodized aluminum. Harteloxal is an electrolytically produced outer layer which, in addition to improved wear, corrosion and UV protection, also achieves excellent sliding properties. With these characteristics, the rope window conforms to military standard MIL-A-8625F TYPE III. In addition, our winch window is also significantly lower than many other products on the market. Anyone who has opted for high-performance synthetic materials for mountain equipment will benefit from cascading solutions. One steel part after the other can be replaced in the module chain with lightweight and synthetics. With the decision to use a synthetic winch rope, the classic deflection pulley, with its wearing parts, the high weight and the tendency to get stuck, also had its day. With so-called NMP pulleys - "No Moving Parts" - nothing rolls anymore. In principle, it is only a rope guide block, through which synthetic ropes glide easily, even under high loads, due to the low frictional resistance. This does NOT work with steel cables! Our Nakatanenga Heavy Duty pulley made of hard anodized aluminum for ropes from 8-14 mm is manufactured according to military standard MIL-A-8625F TYPE III, has a breaking load of 18 t and weighs only 1.65 kg. You should have at least one quality snatch block pulley in your winching kit at all times. Most often, you will use it when there are no straight lines in which you can tow your vehicle, but in any case, the snatch block doubles the towing force. That means winching your trapped vehicle free becomes easier and the winch itself is put under less strain while doing so. Our new foldable Nakatanenga snatch block utilizes the familiar pulley principle, but in our development process we focused on the best choice of materials, on high-end production and on improving usually overlooked details. Snatch blocks have to be solid, light-weight, universally applicable, smooth-running and easy to clean. Our construction from exceptionally sturdy 6 mm galvanized steel and a 15 mm polymer reel suits any kind of winch line with a diameter of 8 – 13 mm: plastic, plasma or steel. Nakatanenga Winch Bumper 2 for Land Rover Defender The new Nakatanenga NAWIBU2 winch bumper is equally suitable for Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 with or without air conditioning. It fits all model years and engine types, such as TD4, TD5, TDI, TDCi, Puma, 2.5, 2.4 and 2.2. Locally manufactured for us, the winch bumper is powder-coated black and protects the front of the vehicle even during tough off-road use. The two integrated, swivelling recovery eyes are ideally suited for self and external recovery - or for attaching an optional pulley, which doubles the pulling force of the winch or makes difficult recoveries possible in the first place. The design of the winch bumper allows for easy registration by means of a fee-based individual approval. One of the main innovations of the NAWIBU2 bumper compared to its predecessor is the optional possibility to mount two 70mm driving lamps in a recessed position - this way they are optimally protected against damage in the terrain. We use LED driving lights from Nolden, which provide excellent light with low power consumption. They have an E-mark and can therefore be used without registration. In order to harmonise with any existing Nolden Bi-LED main headlights, the auxiliary driving lamps are available in black or chrome-coloured optics. If you order the bumper without headlights, the openings for headlights are not present. Depending on the vehicle version and winch type, it may be necessary to adapt the radiator grille. For safety reasons, it is advisable to switch off the electric winch on the off-roader and only switch it on when needed. This is usually done with a disconnect switch in the engine compartment, so that awkward handling is necessary when you want to start the winch. With the switching relay and the switch supplied, this can be done conveniently from the driver's seat without having to lay the winch's power cables there. Only two thin wires are needed, the required switch is included in the delivery, the switching relay is mounted in the engine compartment. It has an additional switch directly on the relay housing and does not consume any power when it is not being switched. A recessed labelling field allows easy identification of the relay. The switch is a very high quality Carlingtech Contura switch (waterproof to IP67 standard), this fits seamlessly into our mounting frames or various consoles such as in the Land Rover Defender TD4 or other vehicles. The relay is designed for a continuous load of 500 A, please check if this is suitable for your winch. According to the manufacturer, a Warn 9.5XP requires 425 A, a Tabor 12K 457 A and the Warn 8274-50 450 A. The angle of the bumper is optimal for vehicles with air conditioning, because the bumper sits very far back. The bumper is made of quality steel, which is cathodic dip painted and then powder coated black. The material thickness of the tubes is 4mm and is welded watertight. Twin USB 4.2A installation socket, 2x USB, with 2x 2.1A charge current, protective cover. Nakatanenga cable set winch mounting in Defender In order to facilitate the installation of the winch in the Defender and to minimise sources of error, we have a complete cable set for this purpose mass-produced by a cable harness manufacturer. The cable lengths are adapted to the installation situation in the Land Rover Defender 90/110/130. Due to the cable cross-section of 50 mm², even high currents can be transmitted safely, so that enough current reaches the cable winch and is not converted into heat in the cable. Delivery includes tubular cable lug M10 and battery pole clamp minus M10, for mounting on the vehicle's wiring.
