Information on Battery Disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we would like to inform you of the following:
Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. End users are legally required to collect waste batteries separately and return them to an appropriate collection point.
Waste batteries can be returned free of charge, in particular to municipal collection points and to retailers that are legally obliged to take them back.
We also take back free of charge, in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions, waste batteries of the battery categories that we currently sell or have previously sold as new batteries. In the case of waste portable batteries and waste batteries for light means of transport (LMT batteries), the take-back obligation is limited to quantities typically discarded by private end users.
As we also sell batteries by distance selling, we provide suitable return options within a reasonable distance of the respective end user in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions. Please contact us to arrange a suitable return option:

For safety reasons, the terminals of lithium batteries should be protected against short circuits before return, for example by covering the terminals with adhesive tape. Damaged, deformed, leaking or otherwise unusual batteries must not be shipped without prior consultation with us.
Waste batteries may contain harmful substances which, if not stored or disposed of properly, can harm the environment or your health. At the same time, batteries contain valuable raw materials that can be recycled.
Proper handling of batteries, for example by using suitable chargers, avoiding deep discharge or overheating and storing them correctly, can extend their service life. Reuse, repair, refurbishment and proper recycling contribute to waste prevention and the conservation of resources.
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that the battery must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste:
Where batteries exceed the relevant threshold values, the following chemical symbols are additionally used:
Cd = battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
Pb = battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass

Special Provisions for the Sale of Starter Batteries
In connection with the sale of starter batteries, we are required under Section 19 of the German Battery Law Implementation Act (BattDG) to charge a deposit of EUR 7.50 including VAT for each starter battery if no used starter battery is returned when purchasing a new starter battery.
The deposit is not included in the purchase price and is charged in addition to the final price of the item.
If you return a used starter battery to us, we are required to refund the deposit charged by us, subject to the applicable statutory requirements.
Where we have issued a deposit token or deposit receipt when charging the deposit, reimbursement of the deposit may be made dependent on the return of that token or receipt.

Used starter batteries are subject to special transport and dangerous goods regulations and therefore must not be sent as ordinary parcels without further consideration. Please contact us before arranging any shipment.
If the used starter battery is returned not to us but to another legally authorised collection point, that collection point may, upon request, confirm in writing or electronically that the battery was accepted without refunding the deposit.
Upon presentation of such proof of return, we will refund the battery deposit charged by us. The proof of return must not be more than two weeks old at the time it is submitted.
Information Pursuant to Section 8(1) of the German Waste Oil Ordinance (AltölV)
In connection with the sale of internal combustion engine oils, transmission oils and oil filters, we are required under Section 8 of the German Waste Oil Ordinance (AltölV) to inform you about the statutory return options.

During our business hours, you may return used internal combustion engine oil and transmission oil free of charge up to the quantity of the corresponding fresh oil purchased from us in the individual transaction.
The same applies accordingly to oil filters and oil-containing waste regularly generated during oil changes.
Waste oil and oil-containing waste must be handled and disposed of properly. Mixing waste oil with foreign substances such as solvents, petrol, brake fluid or coolant must be avoided.
Waste oil may be returned to us at your own expense, provided that the respective shipping service provider permits such transport and all applicable transport and dangerous goods regulations are complied with. Packaging suitable for the respective transport and resistant to leakage must be used. We recommend contacting us before arranging a return shipment.

Information on the Take-Back of Packaging Materials
Pursuant to Section 39 of the German Packaging Law Implementation Act (Verpackungsrecht-Durchführungsgesetz – VerpackDG), manufacturers and subsequent distributors in the supply chain are, subject to the statutory requirements, obliged to take back certain used and completely emptied packaging free of charge.
The take-back obligation applies in particular to:
- transport packaging that is not subject to system participation,
- sales and grouped packaging that is not subject to system participation,
- primary production packaging that is not subject to system participation,
- packaging subject to system participation for which participation in a system is not possible due to system incompatibility,
- sales packaging for products containing hazardous substances, and
- reusable packaging within the meaning of the applicable statutory provisions.
For us as the final distributor, the take-back obligation is limited to packaging for goods that we stock in our product range.
Where a statutory take-back obligation applies, we take back corresponding used and completely emptied packaging of the same type, form and size as the packaging supplied by us, free of charge at the place of actual delivery or in its immediate vicinity.
The packaging taken back will be reused or recycled in accordance with the applicable statutory requirements.
