Strong, sturdy and massively versatile, it was way ahead of its time when we introduced it in 2016. But the world is turning, evolution doesn’t favor a standstill and if you want to survive in nature, you need to keep innovating. Leaner and meaner is this new bear, the CargoBear 2.0, when he emerges from his winter den in Berg. Same load bearing strength, same solidity, same rigidity, but greatly reduced fight weight: Your 4x4 has to carry around 30 % less weight on the roof. And on top of it, the new CargoBear comes with a reduced price tag as well. How did we do it? The crucial difference lies in a new construction design. Removing the comparatively heavy longitudinal connecting beams, their structural function has been taken over by newly developed perforated HIGRIP plates between the crossbars and angled end-plates for the sides. The new design achieves (nearly) the same structural strength as its predecessor but reduces the net weight considerably.  The CargoBear 2.0 has been designed for a load capacity of 300 kg off-road (with evenly distributed load). This can easily be doubled on the road. Theoretically, that is, because it’s important to make two points when it comes to roof racks. One, keep in mind that your vehicle’s center of gravity can shift upwards considerably when carrying a roof rack with cargo, especially off-road. And two, when loading your roof rack, the limitations will most likely result from your vehicles approved roof load which in most cases will be significantly below the specifications of the rack itself. Some of the CargoBear 2.0’s features stay the same, however, because we found them hard to improve: this includes the jet-black, super-flat look, the high-performance material and the modular versatility. Nakatanenga Winch Bumper 2 for Land Rover Defender The new Nakatanenga NAWIBU2 winch bumper is equally suitable for Land Rover Defender 90/110/130 with or without air conditioning. It fits all model years and engine types, such as Td4, Td5, Tdi, Tdci, Puma, 2.5, 2.4 and 2.2. Locally manufactured for us, the winch bumper is powder-coated black and protects the front of the vehicle even during tough off-road use. The two integrated, swivelling recovery eyes are ideally suited for self and external recovery - or for attaching an optional pulley, which doubles the pulling force of the winch or makes difficult recoveries possible in the first place. The design of the winch bumper allows for easy registration by means of a fee-based individual approval. One of the main innovations of the NAWIBU2 bumper compared to its predecessor is the optional possibility to mount two 70mm driving lamps in a recessed position - this way they are optimally protected against damage in the terrain. We use LED driving lights from Nolden, which provide excellent light with low power consumption. They have an E-mark and can therefore be used without registration. In order to harmonise with any existing Nolden Bi-LED main headlights, the auxiliary driving lamps are available in black or chrome-coloured optics. If you order the bumper without headlights, the openings for headlights are not present. Depending on the vehicle version and winch type, it may be necessary to adapt the radiator grille. Fender box for Land Rover Defender, selectable right or left Defenders draw their air for the heater on the passenger side and since there is no doubling up for pesky details like right and left hand drive at Land Rover, the fenders are the same for both sides with a plastic dummy vent for the unused intake. But that’s a good thing, because if you are into tinkering, optimizing and upgrading, you will find a neat pre-cut body opening to hold additional waterproof storage or functional space irresistible. Mounting our lockable black fender box is as easy as it gets. It will take you under 5 minutes to unscrew the old cover and replace it with our locker by fastening it to the existing screw holes. If all you need is some exterior space for oily rags or gloves, that’s your job done right there. If you are feeling more ambitious, you might want to install electric sockets, pneumatic connectors or a kill-switch for your winch for instance. In that case, you will appreciate the fact that the floor of the box is loose to make these jobs that much easier. The hinge was rolled onto the sheet metal with a special tool and connected with a 4mm stainless steel pin. The lock is provided by international market leader EMKA in western Germany, includes two keys and a protective cap. Nakatanenga quality, all Made in Germany. Nylon PU (polyurethanes) is, unlike PVC, free from harmful phthalate-based plasticizers. Low molecular weight phthalates were until recently the most common plasticizers for plastics of all kinds, and are even used in food and cosmetics. However, they accumulate in the environment and are due to their molecular nature suspected of acting as the body's own hormones. This is toxicologically highly questionable and is considered the trigger for various diseases, including cancer. Tool roll wash small toiletry bag Our Nakatanenga Bear loves to scrub up and keeps everything neat, tidy and protected. That’s why we are introducing our own hanging wash bag with the bear logo on it, for travel, outdoor and camping. Everything else out there hasn’t really done it for us, so we made some key improvements to the most important details and put them all in one cool roll! Advantage #1 for our Nakatanenga toiletry bag: lots of mesh! We’re using great amounts of mesh material especially in the interior zip bag area, so that the wash roll can dry off quickly after you’ve been to a tiny wet room. If your shampoo or deodorant has leaked again, you can quickly rinse the mesh in a sink or basin. The wash bags exterior is Nylon PU-coated and therefore extremely robust, easy to clean and water resistant. Advantage #2: our firm G-hook! Even brand wash bags often sport these cheap round hooks that come off with the slightest movement or push. As a result, your personal hygiene items are too often scattered on less than appealing bathroom floors. Our G-hook closes the rolled-up wash bag tightly and you can also use it to hang the bag securely in windy or cramped places. We also enclose a hooked suction cup to firmly fix the bag to smooth surfaces like tiles or glass. Advantage #3: Roll it up! Roll beats bag, anytime, even when it comes to wash bags. Rolling up your gear minimizes the required storage space and holds everything tightly in place, thereby preventing damage to the bag or your hygiene articles by pointy or sharp objects within. The newly developed, modular Nakatanenga Tool Roll owes its added value to our experience as an off-roader, screwdriver and also as a fan of tactical equipment. The clou are big velcro surfaces on the baseplate. So our tool roll can be equipped arbitrarily and is extremely flexible in use. Depending on the set, up to six tool bags (sizes M and S) can be attached. So you take with you only the tool sets that are really needed. For better clarity, the individual pockets can be color-coded via the zip puller. Fluorescent, writable ID patches help to identify the content, even in the dark. And we also thought about it: Loose bits and pieces find their place in the sewn-in mesh pockets.
