MUD Retrofit Switches for Land Rover Defender Td4/Td5 – Fits Original Switch Mountings

Looking to retrofit additional work lights, a winch or other electrical functions to your Defender? The MUD switches for Land Rover Defender Td4 and Td5 make it easier to integrate additional electrical accessories into the vehicle's wiring and fit directly into the original switch openings in the Defender dashboard.

The switches have the same installation dimensions as the corresponding original Land Rover switches and can be fitted into existing unused switch positions. The original switch mounting frame remains in place, so no additional switch holder is required where a suitable opening is available.

Easier Wiring Compared with Many Original Switches

Original Land Rover switches are designed for the factory electrical system. When retrofitting additional electrical functions, MUD switches offer several practical advantages:

• Fits original switch mountings: The switches fit directly into the existing switch positions in the Defender Td4/Td5 dashboard.
• Straightforward electrical connection: MUD switches use conventional positive switching. Many original Land Rover switches use negative switching, which requires consideration when installing additional accessories.
• No special Land Rover connectors required: Electrical connections are made using four standard 2.8 mm blade terminals.
• Flexible positioning: MUD switches do not have position-specific mechanical locating tabs and can therefore be installed in any suitable unused switch opening.
• Appearance matching the original switches: The colour, shape and soft-touch operation are designed to match the factory switches. Green symbol illumination and an orange switch-on indicator complement the existing dashboard lighting.
