Few cultures know more about steel and wood than the Japanese. Small wonder then that Japanese saw designs have become very popular in the West. The foldable pruning saws by Spanish manufacturer Bellota are made in the Japanese tradition and feature a 7” (ca 18 cm) curved laminated steel blade and a triple-edge saw tooth design guaranteeing easy, quick and precise cutting. Precisely what you want for pruning your trees in the garden or for outdoor activities and bushcraft.
When folded into the ergonomically shaped soft-touch handle, the tool is only about 23 cm long, with a width of 5.5 cm and a depth of 2.5 cm. The requirements are fairly simple: the tools need to be versatile, durable and safe. They need to cut well and should weigh as little as possible. And since axes and hatchets are among mankind’s oldest tools, the most ergonomic and efficient designs are very often the oldest ones. This handy axe by Spanish manufacturer Bellota is made in the tradition of the Biscayne trade axes, a very old, traditional design from the Basque region that has made its biggest impact during the colonization of North America. The Biscayne style features a straight top of the axe head, a short blade and a slightly rounded edge. The head is forged from a single piece of steel, making it very long-lived and virtually indestructible. The straight handle is 38cm or 60cm long and has a conic joint connection with the head – guaranteeing a great degree of safety and it also prevents the axe head from loosening due to impact forces or physical influences like changes in temperature or moisture of the wood. Bellota’s Biscayne axe is great for chopping firewood, trimming branches or felling thin trees. An axe for all situations, at home or in the bush. It’s not only watches and pocket knives that the Swiss do really, really well, they also know a thing or two about cruder tools. This pickaxe for example is used by the Swiss army engineer corps and it’s both extremely well-made and versatile. You can use it for all kinds of outdoor activities, as off-road equipment and much more. The forged steel head offers a point and a flat blade for all kinds of digging work required in a camp, e.g. making a fire pit, digging rain trenches around your tent or cracking ice in winter.
When compared to a foldable army spade, this traditional pick offers considerable advantages. Especially on very hard or stony ground, digging with a folding spade is often difficult or even impossible. The army spade’s folding hinges limit the force that can be exerted and they also tend to get damaged or worn-out. In contrast, the pickaxe’s simple design means that the physical force is concentrated on a very small area at the tip or the blade. That makes the pickaxe your tool of choice, especially when it comes to harder surfaces. And besides, most outdoor digging tasks don’t involve removing huge amounts of soil. In most cases, loosening and scraping will suffice and for that the Swiss army pick is ideal.
With its length of roughly 30 cm for the head and 52 cm for the high-quality wooden shaft and its overall weight of only 1.3 kg approximately, this pickaxe is both easy to pack and to transport. A sturdy roll-up bag made from PU-coated nylon keeps the pick always neatly stowed and guarantees that your other equipment won’t get soiled or damaged. The pointy or sharp ends of the pick’s head are protected by a separate pouch. The roll-up bag is easy to clean and features Velcro strips and click buckles to secure it. A strong handle, finally, makes for easy carrying.

This small universal shovel by Bellota is such an all-purpose tool, built in the style of a classic jeep shovel – so called because they were part of the basic equipment on Willys Jeeps. But this shovel isn’t restricted to the legendary US Army vehicle, of course. It will also fit in or on any other off-roader. We offer a bundle including practical Quickfist-holders for easy and safe mounting. Always handy, always organized!
The pointed Bellota-blades including collar are forged from one piece of heat-treated steel and are laminated for extreme strength and durability. The steps are big and robust enough to make digging in heavy soils really easy. With the short wooden handle and the extra-wide polypropylene soft-touch D-grip, the shovel measures altogether only 680 mm and weighs just under a kilogram, allowing for ergonomic and efficient digging in all conditions.

The long Bellota spade shovel combines the basic elements of a jeep shovel, such as the one that gave its name to the Willys Jeep - a pointed blade with treads and a D-handle - with a handle that is longer in this case.This makes the Bellota a real all-rounder for shovelling loose soil, gravel, sand or snow, as well as for cutting and digging in hard ground and mud. The materials and ergonomic design of the long shovel enable effortless and back-friendly work at home, in the camp or when off-roading.

The treads are also designed for heavy digging work thanks to their size and robustness.
