Electric windows were first introduced in the Defender when the Td5 was overhauled in 2002. All doors and door trims were adapted at that point, so that from MY2002 onwards, even models with manual crank handles in the rear seat doors can be retrofitted with electric openers. The complete electric window opener kit makes swapping or retrofitting dead easy. The assembly kit contains the lifting mechanism, electric wiring, fastening materials, covers and the switches for both rear seat doors.
