Retrofit kit electric windows for Land Rover Defender  Electric windows were first introduced in the Defender when the Td5 was overhauled in 2002. All doors and door trims were adapted at that point, so that from MY2002 onwards, even models with manual crank handles in the rear seat doors can be retrofitted with electric openers. The complete electric window opener kit makes swapping or retrofitting dead easy. The assembly kit contains the lifting mechanism, electric wiring, fastening materials, covers and the switches for both rear seat doors.

Door Handle Exchange set Defender until MY2002 In 2002, the Defender’s doors were re-designed to accommodate the first-ever introduction of electric power windows to the line-up. In the overhaul, the door-handles were updated, too. This complete door handle repair kit makes the replacement of broken or worn-out looking door handles in pre-2002 Defenders dead easy. The kit consists of two handles, all required fastening materials and seals, as well as three lock barrels including two keys each. The handles fit front and rear doors.

This is where the impeccably modern cockpit by design director Gerry McGovern and colleagues pays homage to the interior of the classic Defender, the original Landy. Good for us, because we immediately spotted an opportunity to improve storage capabilities: with our nifty dashboard bag for the New Defender. The open dashboard shelf is where you put all the odds and ends in your car. It was like that in the old Landy, it will probably be the same in the new one. But once you’re testing the L663’s tilt angle or maximum gradient, our new dashboard bag, made from easy-to-clean, robust nylon, will keep your stuff from actually flying around. Installing the bag firmly in the dash takes only a few minutes. The zipper has two sliders so that the bag can be opened and shut from both sides. On the inside, mesh compartments and Velcro fleece allow for organized and secure storage of all kinds of items. The front features MOLLE fleece to attach patches and other little things. Since the New Landy sports a designer cockpit, we used transparent plastic material on top of the bag. This allows for the ambient LEDs in the dashboard and the day light from the opening above to filter through into the bag’s interior. One of the first areas to show signs of wear and tear – especially with off-road vehicles – is usually the cargo area. But if your 4x4 is a New Defender, would you really want to see a worn and scratched rear bumper? “Air conditioning” in the classic Defender was regulated by crank handles and had two settings: windows up and windows down. But modern times show no mercy and such anachronisms are getting the chop. While parking, camping or as a work vehicle on job sites?
