In contrast to PVC, Nylon PU (Polyurethane) contains no harmful, phthalate-based softeners. Until recently, lower-molecular-weight phthalates have been the primary choice for plasticizers in synthetic materials, even in food products and cosmetics. Phthalates accumulate in the environment, however, and are suspected to act like hormones due to their molecular similarity. Toxicologically, this is highly alarming, because it is assumed that these chemicals can cause many diseases, including cancer. For the coating of our Nakatanenga textile products, it is therefore no question for us to exclusively use non-toxic, ecologically sound alternatives that pose no health risks, like Nylon PU.

Tool Roll - modular tool bag in a set The principle of Tool Roll is as ingenious as it is old: roll out instead of junk. The square fits into the round, remains always at the intended place and therefore takes less space altogether. Can you still improve that? We say yes. The newly developed, modular Nakatanenga Tool Roll owes its added value to our experience as an off-roader, screwdriver and also as a fan of tactical equipment. The clou are big velcro surfaces on the baseplate. So our tool roll can be equipped arbitrarily and is extremely flexible in use. Depending on the set, up to six tool bags (sizes M and S) can be attached. So you take with you only the tool sets that are really needed. For better clarity, the individual pockets can be color-coded via the zip puller. Fluorescent, writable ID patches help to identify the content, even in the dark. And we also thought about it: Loose bits and pieces find their place in the sewn-in mesh pockets. The Tool Roll rolls up clean even with maximum placement and is quickly closed or opened with two clip closures. Carrying handle and shoulder strap facilitate transport. When deployed, the Toll Roll on the D-rings (two or three depending on size) is hung on the wall, on the vehicle or on the tree in the field. How can you improve our ingenious Tool Rolls when it comes to making them more compact, more functional and even quicker to access? By adding one or two of our ½“ and ¼“ organizers for socket wrench sets, of course. It’s really easy, attach the socket organizer’s Velcro strap to the Tool Roll’s fleece, push the sockets onto the studded clips and roll the whole thing up. There you go, that’s order and organization for you. No more fumbling around in oily pouches or cluttered boxes to find the right sockets. The high-quality holders feature 8 studs each for half or quarter inch sockets. The smaller Tool Roll S fits one organizer, the medium M will fit two across. The studded brackets holding the sockets sport metal ball bearings, just like a quality ratchet, thereby guaranteeing a firm and secure grip during storage and transport. Additionally, the individual brackets can be shifted (or removed entirely) to accommodate different socket sizes. Inside the Tool Roll, the organizer is held in place by a robust Velcro strip made from sturdy Nylon and strengthened by a plastic plate. The organizer rail in turn is attached to the Velcro strip by two elastic straps. That way you can easily take out the organizer rail or swap it for another one, without compromising the exact positioning within the Tool Roll. Swiss Pioneer Pick with Bag It’s not only watches and pocket knives that the Swiss do really, really well, they also know a thing or two about cruder tools. This pickaxe for example is used by the Swiss army engineer corps and it’s both extremely well-made and versatile. You can use it for all kinds of outdoor activities, as off-road equipment and much more. The forged steel head offers a point and a flat blade for all kinds of digging work required in a camp, e.g. making a fire pit, digging rain trenches around your tent or cracking ice in winter. When compared to a foldable army spade, this traditional pick offers considerable advantages. Especially on very hard or stony ground, digging with a folding spade is often difficult or even impossible. The army spade’s folding hinges limit the force that can be exerted and they also tend to get damaged or worn-out. In contrast, the pickaxe’s simple design means that the physical force is concentrated on a very small area at the tip or the blade. That makes the pickaxe your tool of choice, especially when it comes to harder surfaces. And besides, most outdoor digging tasks don’t involve removing huge amounts of soil. In most cases, loosening and scraping will suffice and for that the Swiss army pick is ideal. With its length of roughly 30 cm for the head and 52 cm for the high-quality wooden shaft and its overall weight of only 1.3 kg approximately, this pickaxe is both easy to pack and to transport. Our versatile, high-quality shovel for off-road and outdoor use in its original state was too long for comfortable transport in the vehicle and that's why we simply shortened the shaft. The shovel now matches the US Army standard length of 1.04m (3ft 5in).The spade shovel from top manufacturer Bellota has all the advantages of a Jeep shovel, i.e. a pointed blade with treads and a practical D-shaped grip. We all know the rubber cords used on bike racks to carry stuff. Rusty hooks, worn by sunlight and rain, dangerous handling and not really up to the job anyway - definitely unsuited for tie-down of cargo in a 4x4.
