The new Defender is being marketed as a true workhorse, but – as always – there’s room for improvement when it comes to the practicalities of working with your L663 on a day-to-day basis. One such aspect is definitely the lighting for the load space in the back. The standard set-up is somewhat sparse but most of all it lacks proper roof lights. This is especially problematic since the cargo area is often filled up or modified by installed racks, boxes and the like.
Our LED light bar solves this problem with more than sufficient 396 Lumens light intensity. The lightbar is easily installed on the trim above the cargo door and illuminates the entire load space – helping you to quickly find tools and equipment and ensuring safe working conditions day or night.
Mounting the roughly 36 cm long and 2 cm wide LED lightbar is really easy. Simply click the two fastening clips into the edge of the upper door trim. The clips’ custom-shape will hold the lightbar firmly in position. Connecting the device to the Defender’s wiring is just as quick by simply pushing the LED bar’s wire behind the trim and pulling it along the D-pillar towards the standard lamp housing by the fuse box. In most cases, you won’t even have to remove the trim panels. Lastly, the LED bar’s connector is simply plugged into the standard lamp’s socket. The bar is activated and deactivated as required by its own touch button.

Off-road vehicles are not designed for aerodynamically perfect airflow. So far, so obvious and normally it doesn’t matter anyway because in a 4x4 you’re unlikely to reach the speeds where it becomes problematic.
There’s more than one reason in a 4x4 to crack your windows a little, whether you’re off-roading or it’s cold and wet. Your classic Defender’s windows for instance are misting up because the ventilation famously isn’t up to the job of defogging them. And that’s when you see the effect we’ve talked about in the beginning. The drag around the cracked windows is not only loud, it also pulls more dust and water inwards and that’s pretty annoying, even for hardcore off-roaders.
Wind deflectors by ClimAir for Defender 90,110 und 130, offer the perfect solution. Two legends are coming together for the first time: the new Land Rover Defender, arguably the most complete 4x4 off-road vehicle at present, and our tried and tested, very successful modular roof rack system CargoBear. The bear crowns every new Landy, whether it’s a 90 or a 110.
At Nakatanenga, we took our time to finetune the CargoBear for every design detail, technical specification and user requirement the Defender L663 (from MY 2020) challenged us with. At its full length of 2.41 m, our rack consists of 3 crossbars, two platform elements as well as front and rear modules. The overall width of 1.20 m gives you almost 3 square meters of fully usable cargo space. The entire surface can be loaded and walked upon – a decisive advantage over many competing products.
The CargoBear is screwed into the original mounting points of the roof rails which have to be removed, of course. Another great advantage over the competition is the fact that you can configure the CargoBear rack in two heights: At 100 mm, the glass roof – if you have one –remains fully functional. If your Defender doesn’t have a glass roof or if you prefer a lower, more streamlined profile, the rack can be mounted at only 80mm above the roof.
Whether you’re choosing the high or low mount, aerodynamics was always our main concern in the CargoBear’s development. There are no legally required speed limits when driving with the rack, but we recommend a top speed of 160 km/h when empty and 130 km/h when loaded. For the overall load capacity please refer to your owner’s manual and the specific version or configuration of your vehicle. The roof rack’s weight of up to 50 kg has to be deducted from the dynamic load capacity.
The new Defender’s overall look is perfectly complimented by the matte black powder coating of both aluminum and stainless steel elements. While the V-shaped rear module accommodates the antenna and the rear view camera and guarantees full functionality, the front element is specifically designed to easily integrate an Osram VX1000-CB or other light bars.

The New Defender L663 (from MY 2019) is not only an extraordinary off-road vehicle, it also packs a remarkable punch. The wide variety of engines from Diesel and petrol to PHEV deliver between 200 and 525 HP and 400 to 650 Nm torque. Its power makes the new Landy the ultimate towing vehicle up to 3.5t towing capacity.
And the fact, that the trailer hitch – whether detachable or electrically deployable – has to be ordered as an extra, is not really a disadvantage. When configuring your New Defender it’s probably best to skip this feature and get a heavy duty towbar like the one from GDW with its 13-pin electric connector kit by Erich Jaeger.
The advantages of the GDW trailer hitch are obvious: A 4-bolt mounting plate will fit the included towball hitch but also any other type of coupling, the GDW coupling block comes at a much more competitive price than the OEM parts. Installation and road use do not need to be technically certified, by the way.
The GDW towbar was custom-designed specifically for the New Defender. It comes with detailed assembly instructions and a complete electrics kit. Installing the towbar will take approximately 3 hours.

Seat cover for Land Rover New Defender 110/130, driver and passenger side
This isn’t off-the-peg, this is made to measure! If you’re looking for seat covers for the New Defender – the front seats to be precise – look no further than our seat protectors made from durable, and easy-to-clean 1000D Nylon 6.6. The seat covers were developed by us in our own tailor's workshop – guaranteeing highest functionality and best workmanship. To ensure maximum comfort and compatibility with the climate technologies in your seats, the covers feature breathable mesh fabric on the actual sitting surface. And even though it is mesh, it will still protect the seat from dirt and moisture.
To achieve a perfect fit, the one-piece cover is tightly tailored and does not require zippers or similar. Simply pull it over the seat, Velcro the top part underneath the headrest and close the sturdy straps and buckles on the underside. Additionally, a mesh pocket with a rubber foam piece inside is wedged into the gap between backrest and seat surface to prevent the cover from sliding. On the sides, openings in the cover allow easy access to the headrest controls.
As with all our textile products, we always aim to add additional storage space. Generously sized MOLLE patches on the sides as well as large pockets in the rear of the backrest and the front rail of the seat make it very easy to store everyday items and small pieces of equipment temporarily or permanently.
Our seat protectors come in the colors Coyote or black with uni-colored mesh insets.

Not suitable for New Defender 90The seat in the 90 design has a folding mechanism on the side to tilt the seat. These seat covers have NO! Recess for this lever.
This article was designed in our in-house tailor shop. A dedicated team and short distances allow for continuous quality control and further development of our textile products. And if you already have a tailor's workshop in house, then it is easy to also accept customer change requests, special designs, suggestions and proposals for improvement at short notice and to implement them as far as possible. Mail or phone call is all it takes!
And by the way: At Nakatanenga we only use materials with 100% nylon PU coating for all textile articles. Unlike PVC, nylon PU (polyurethane) is free of harmful phthalate-based plasticisers. Until recently, low-molecular phthalates were the most common plasticisers for plastics of all kinds and are even used in food and cosmetics. However, they accumulate in the environment and are suspected of acting like endogenous hormones due to their molecular nature. This is highly questionable from a toxicological point of view and is considered to be a trigger for various diseases, including cancer. For Nakatanenga, it is therefore a matter of course to use only ecologically and health-safe alternatives such as nylon PU for the coating of textile products.

Modern car doors are primarily optimized for lateral impact protection. Small wonder that even large vehicles like the New Defender offer relatively little storage space in the door paneling. With our new storage nets for driver and passenger door of the New Landy you can pretty much double the available space of your door pockets - for all the things you want to keep within reach, in summer and winter. The elastic mesh material also ensures that you’re using only the space you actually need. And when you take your New Defender off-roading, the nets also make sure that everything you keep in the door pockets will actually stay there.
The nets are simply screwed into the door panels using the fastening materials included in the delivery. The door nets come in the colors black, gray and coyote and are sold in pairs for driver and passenger door.

The open dashboard design in the New Defender is no coincidence, of course. This is where the impeccably modern cockpit by design director Gerry McGovern and colleagues pays homage to the interior of the classic Defender, the original Landy. Good for us, because we immediately spotted an opportunity to improve storage capabilities: with our nifty dashboard bag for the New Defender.
The open dashboard shelf is where you put all the odds and ends in your car. It was like that in the old Landy, it will probably be the same in the new one. But once you’re testing the L663’s tilt angle or maximum gradient, our new dashboard bag, made from easy-to-clean, robust nylon, will keep your stuff from actually flying around. Installing the bag firmly in the dash takes only a few minutes. The zipper has two sliders so that the bag can be opened and shut from both sides. On the inside, mesh compartments and Velcro fleece allow for organized and secure storage of all kinds of items. The front features MOLLE fleece to attach patches and other little things.
Since the New Landy sports a designer cockpit, we used transparent plastic material on top of the bag. This allows for the ambient LEDs in the dashboard and the day light from the opening above to filter through into the bag’s interior. The dashboard bag comes in New Landy compatible colors black, gray and coyote.
Installation does NOT require drilling, glueing or other damaging methods. It is completely reversible. We include a detailed installation guide.

For the Landrover New Defender as an authentic NO FAKE Allterrain rim, which is second to none. This means, beside the real exchangeable, screwable collision protection ring, 1000kg tested strength, the original connections, parts certificate especially for new Defender, suitable for orig. 20 inch factory AT series tyres. For New Defender models with standard brakes no further parts are necessary, only for models with large brakes (Brembo) wheel spacers have to be fitted as mentioned in the certificate. Furthermore optimum offsets to avoid grinding contact on brakes or wheel arch/bodywork and to avoid rework in this respect and to offer a perfect appearance and function even without spacers.
