Frame profiles and piping corners
The aluminum edge profile used to frame the floor panels has stood the test of time. Apart from the mounting rails, it is the only component of our Roof Lodge tents that has not undergone any change in all these years. Why is that? Simply because it already does its job perfectly. However, we have improved one thing: We have given the profiles elaborately crafted end pieces made of plastic. Among other things, these ensure that the risk of injury to the keder of the protective hood is minimized. All the profiles mentioned are extruded profiles.
There are three different profile types in total:
- The edge profile into which the tent skin is piped. In this profile, a piping strip is integrated on the upper and lower side. The tent skin is piped into the upper piping strip, the lower one is available for the front and ground tents. This can also be used for accessories (such as shoe bags). For the sake of completeness, it should be mentioned here that the simultaneous use of awnings and shoe bags is not possible with the Basic tent variants.
- The tongue and groove profile on the joint axis of the floor panels. This inconspicuous profile is what makes the use of a folding tent possible in the first place. It ensures that the weight forces acting on the folding panel are transferred to the other panel over its entire width. Without these two interlocking profiles, the outer panel would not only bend, but the hinges would also have to absorb or transfer the entire forces.

The plastic corners not only serve to protect the corners of the floor panels, they also complement the aluminum floor profiles. They enable the gentle insertion of the tent skin piping into the piping strips of the edge profiles. In addition, they enable the controlled guiding of these pipings around the corners.
