Our mounting plates for the side handles on the dashboard of the New Defender are designed to support heavy duty mounts – like those from market leader RAM Mounts. The plate’s tight hold makes sure that nothing wobbles, collapses or falls off. But most of all, there are no suction cups involved as they tend to come loose when off-roading or speeding along bumpy dirt roads.The mounting plate is powder-coated black to match the interior of the new Landy and you simply fasten it with the existing screws of the handle. No drilling is required and removal is as easy as installation. Mounting plate air intake for CB radio antennas, Land Rover Defender, for right-hand drive (RHD) This mounting plate ensures optimum mounting of a CB antenna on the air intake of the Land Rover Defender. For this purpose, the mounting plate is installed on the right-hand (as seen from the driver's seat) ventilation grille / air intake. Battery recharging & charge retention Perhaps this situation sounds familiar to you: You are standing on the beach in your camper and leave the car radio on for a long time or open the door frequently. Suddenly, the vehicle battery management system reports that the (starter) battery is running low and the radio switches off or the battery needs to be charged. This is often caused by high power consumption by the vehicle radio or vehicle control systems, which are active for a while every time the door is opened and consume a relatively large amount of power from the starter battery. While all VOTRONIC mains chargers, solar charge controllers and combination chargers have a power-reduced auxiliary charging output in addition to the powerful main charging output, which supplies the starter battery with a defined trickle charge, many conventional devices unfortunately do not have this at all.This can be remedied by a so-called stand-by charger. Charging technology at the highest level The battery is the central element of a vehicle's electrical system. It requires the greatest attention, maintenance and care and, above all, it must be charged correctly. Modern lithium (LiFePO4) batteries have a significantly higher open-circuit voltage than starter batteries (lead, AGM). When using simple, unregulated and uncontrolled standby chargers, this leads to the complete discharge of the lithium supply battery. For this reason, the Standby Charger (item no. 3065 or 6065) is unfortunately not suitable for these batteries. The VOTRONIC StandBy Charger Pro, on the other hand, has an adjustable undervoltage limit at the input. Charging is interrupted if the voltage falls below this limit. Blower control for Land Rover Defender Fan and heater in classic Defenders are notoriously poor in performance and reliability – especially in northern latitudes, where cold winters and rainy days regularly impair comfort and safety in the cockpit. While Land Rover upgraded to an improved fan heater for the Td4 (MY 2007), all previous models can easily be retrofitted with an electronic control system. In contrast to the old analog fan heater, the new electronic control system allows for continuous adjustments. This ensures more efficient operation and therefore better ventilation, heating and dehumidification in the interior. Heating your vehicle’s interior can be achieved much quicker, as is demisting or de-icing of the windows. Additionally, the electronic control is much less prone to wear than the old mechanical solution using sliders and resistors, which are susceptible to shocks and vibrations. The retrofit kit includes the electronic control, a stepless slider and all the assembly parts for the connections. Installation instructions are included.
